1. Who we are; acceptance. loved.pet (the “Site”) is a memorial community for animals. By using the Site, creating an account, or submitting content, you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
2. Eligibility. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account or submit content. If you are under 18, you may use the Site only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
3. Your content. You retain ownership of the photos, videos, and words you submit (“Your Content”). By submitting, you grant loved.pet a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, adapt (for technical purposes such as resizing), publicly display, and distribute Your Content on and in connection with the Site, including in collages and previews on the Site’s own pages and social accounts. You may request removal of Your Content at any time, and we will remove it from the live Site within a reasonable period.
4. Your promises about Your Content. You represent that (a) Your Content is yours to share — you took the photos or have permission from the person who did; (b) where photos identifiably depict other people, you have their permission to share them; and (c) Your Content does not infringe any third party’s rights or violate any law.
5. Community standards; moderation. This is a place of remembrance. We review tributes before publication and may decline, edit for formatting, or remove any content at our discretion, including content that is hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, violent, commercial or promotional, misleading, or simply out of keeping with the spirit of the Site. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
6. Copyright complaints (DMCA). If you believe content on the Site infringes your copyright, send a notice complying with 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3) to our designated agent at hello@loved.pet. We will respond as required by law, and we maintain a policy of terminating repeat infringers.
7. Memorial content; no verification. Tributes are personal remembrances written by their authors. We do not verify their contents and are not responsible for them.
8. The Site is provided “as is.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Site is provided without warranties of any kind, and we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of content — please keep your own copies of your photos and stories. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed one hundred dollars ($100).
9. Changes. We may update these Terms from time to time; the “last updated” date above will change when we do. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
10. Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflicts-of-law rules, and any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York.
